Alberta Premier acknowledging Mar. 14 as Hindu Festival of Colours ‘Holi’

Alberta’s Premier is acknowledging today as Holi the Hindu traditional Festival of Colours.

Danielle Smith says the celebration marks the arrival of spring and is a way for participants to reconnect with their community.

Smith says during Holi the focus is on practising acceptance, living in harmony with all the earth’s inhabitants, and the triumph of good over evil

She is wishing all who celebrate to have colours fill their days and the promise of good times ahead.

The City of Grande Prairie also released a short statement, wishing everyone a happy Holi filled with joy, cherished moments and colourful memories.
