Wildfire danger level at high for GPFA
Apr 29, 2025 | 4:08 PM
Alberta Wildfire has upgraded the wildfire danger level in the Grande Prairie Forest Area to high.
This was done as the area experiences dry grass and vegetation, mixing with forecasted strong winds, which would make it challenging to suppress a fire.
At this time, a fire advisory does remain in effect, and anyone recreating outdoors is asked to use caution and to call 310-FIRE if they see flames or smoke in the forest.
Since the start of this year, 15 wildfires have burned six hectares of GPFA land, with six active blazes; five are listed as under control, while one is being held.
