Four arrests made for drug-related activity in Grande Prairie

Mounties in Grande Prairie have been busy conducting proactive patrols in areas with higher likelihoods of criminal activity recently.

As a result of this work, four people have been arrested on two separate files.

On May 8, 2025, the Grande Prairie Crime Reduction Unit stopped a Ford F-150 with faulty equipment and RCMP members noted that drugs and related paraphernalia were in the vehicle.

The two occupants were arrested and a search of the truck revealed a stolen revolver with ammunition, as well as a small amount of crack cocaine and unstamped tobacco.

Forty-year-old Tasha Kristine Lanz and 39-year-old Terrance Lukac, both of the city, were charged with five firearm-related offences. Lukac was also charged with failing to comply with a release order.

Both were brought before a Justice of the Peace, Lanz was released on conditions and Lukac was remanded into custody. Lanz is due in Grande Prairie court on May 21, and Lukac is to be in court on May 28.

On May 6, 2025, the CRU in Grande Prairie found a white Ford Bronco that has been previously involved in a flight from police at a local gas station. A traffic stop ensued as the driver was pumping gas.

RCMP found unstamped tobacco in the vehicle and arrested the driver and passenger.

Upon a further search of the vehicle, officers also found and seized;

  • Several packs of unstamped tobacco
  • 34 grams of cocaine
  • 15ml of GHB
  • A small amount of methamphetamines
  • $1,660 in Canadian currency
  • A switchblade

Grande Prairie residents, 30-year-old Rachel Elizabeth Donavan and 47-year-old Floyd Bradley Dick were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime, and possession of unstamped tobacco.

Dick was also charged with seven counts of possession of a weapon contrary to court orders.

The two were brought before a Justice of the Peace and Donavan was released on conditions, Dick was remanded into custody. Dick will be in Grande Prairie court on May 21, Donavan is to appear in court on June 4.
