Potential Postal Strike

Property Tax Payment alternatives provided by the City of Grande Prairie

May 15, 2025 | 12:20 PM

As property tax season is upon us, the City of Grande Prairie is making residents aware that any mailed payments may be delayed due to a potential postal strike.

“To avoid any potential issues or delay’s,” residents are encouraged to make payments through a number of alternatives:

Online Payments:

• Credit Card Payments: Visit eservices.cityofgp.com (Note: a 2.25% service fee applies).

• Online Banking: Set up the City of Grande Prairie as a payee using your 6-digit Roll Number from your tax notice. (Please initiate payment 3-4 business days before the due date.)

Online Banking Quick Steps:

1. Log in to your bank’s online account.

2. Select “Bill Payment/Add Payee.”

3. Search for “Grande Prairie (City) – Taxes” or “City of Grande Prairie Taxes” (ATB users).

4. Enter your 6-digit Roll Number.

Bank Payments:

• Pay directly at your financial institution—ensure they select “Grande Prairie (City) Taxes,” not “Grande Prairie No 1.”

In-Person Payments:

• Pay at City Hall (10205 98 Street) weekdays from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

• Drop off cheques anytime in our secure night drop-box, located by City Hall’s main doors.

Monthly Payment Option:

• After paying this year’s tax balance, residents can set up an automatic monthly payment through our Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP).

Anyone with questions is asked to contact the City’s Tax Department at 780-538-0315 or 311.

The deadline to submit property tax payments is June 30, with the potential postal strike going into effect May 22.
