City of Grande Prairie reminding residents to check property lines before cutting down trees

May 26, 2025 | 1:04 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is reminding residents to confirm their property lines before planting or removing trees near their homes.

A strip of city-owned land called the boulevard runs along the front and sometimes side of most properties, and trees growing in this area are public trees and should only be worked on by City staff.

Trees on private land remain the responsibility of the property owner.

Residents are encouraged to review the Real Property Report or contact the City for help confirming their property lines before beginning any landscaping projects.

If you are concerned about the condition of a tree on the boulevard, you should contact Access GP by dialing 311.
