County of Grande Prairie Regional Enforcement Services shares 2025 first quarter report

County of Grande Prairie Regional Enforcement Services say incidents went down slighting in the first quarter of 2024.

CRES and representatives of the Grande Prairie Rural and Beaverlodge RCMP detachments, reported at County of Grande Prairie Council’s May 22 Committee of the Whole meeting that there were 408 total occurrences between January and March, down from the 411 during the same period in 2024.

A total of $97,649.59 in fines were paid in first quarter 2025, up from $92,547.47 during the same period in 2024. A total of 1,667 vehicles were checked over the time frame.

The total number of tickets issued during the first quarter went down from 1,113 in 2024 to 847 in 2025, while the total number of calls logged went up from 1,935 in 2024 to 2,182 in the same period 2025.

Notable enforcement actions addressed by CRES included a $4,100 fine for an overloaded commercial vehicle and 159 km/h speeding violation in an 80 km/h zone.
