Alberta RCMP partnering with Sport Central charity
Alberta RCMP is partnering with Alberta-based charity Sport Central to distribute sports equipment to local communities.
Since 2024, RCMP detachments, including those in Peace River and High Level, have helped distribute over 2,600 pieces of equipment to community leagues, schools and individuals for a variety of sports from hockey and soccer to volleyball and tennis.
This May, 126 ball kits were distributed across 32 RCMP detachments, including Valleyview, with over 1,100 balls handed out to children in the detachment’s neighbourhoods.
When youth are engaged in healthy, structured activities, their well-being, and the well-being of the entire community is improved. In turn, communities are more connected, and criminality is reduced. Over time, this creates a stronger, safer Alberta for everyone. That’s why we believe every child deserves the chance to play. And with Sport Central, we’re helping make that a reality.
