Grande Prairie Fire Dept. encouraging residents to utilize free assessment

The Grande Prairie Fire Department is encouraging residents to apply for the City’s free FireSmart home assessment initiative.

Residents may be seeing these FireSmart signs in their neighbourhoods, which means your home borders on “public wildland interface areas,” carrying an increased risk of being damaged by a wildfire.

As a result, this new City initiative was designed to reduce the risk of damage to your home, as residents will receive custom tips from a certified specialist on how to best protect their property.
