Fire watchers in the Grande Prairie Forest Area say the Two Lakes Road will reopen to the public Wednesday, June 4 at 9 a.m.

The road was closed 80 kilometres southwest of Grovedale after a wildfire started in a log deck and some trees close by on Saturday. Escorted vehicle traffic was allowed by Sunday.

The fire is now listed at under control at four hectares in size.

Fire officials also say a fire in the Peace River Wildland Park, located on the north side of the Saddle River 16 kilometres northeast of Wanham, is now being held at three hectares.

The wildfire danger is still rated high in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.
