Peace Region Air Quality Warning downgraded

Lessening wildfire smoke has prompted Environment Canada to downgrade its air quality warning for the Peace Region to an Air Quality Statement.

Improved air conditions are expected today, but Environment Canada warns smoke is likely to return by the weekend.

During heavy conditions, everyone’s health is at risk, with pregnant people, infants, young children and people aged 65 or older most likely to be impacted.

The original warning has been in place since Monday.
