Team Canada closes out VNL 2025 Week One with win

The Volleyball Nations League 2025 has closed out it’s first week of women’s play, with Canada taking half of their games and closing out with a win.

Team Canada won their latest game over Serbia 3-2 on Sunday, winning three sets in a row for a reverse sweep (20-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-18, 15-12).

The Peace Region’s very own Quinn Pelland from Wanham is on the team.

The women maple leafs have 10 days off in-between matches as they head to Istanbul, Türkiye, for Week Two of VNL 2025.

Their next opponent is Korea. They play June 18 at 3:30 p.m. MT, before facing off against fourth-ranked Türkiye, second-ranked Brazil, and Belgium later in the week.

All teams are vying for a spot in the Top 8 to qualify for quarterfinals. Canada is currently sitting 11th.
