Evacuation Order lifted for some County of Grande Prairie areas

Due to favourable conditions and continuous firefighting efforts, some residents who were evacuated from their homes cause of the Kiskatinaw Wildfire can now return home.

The order was lifted for evacuated residents residing north of Township Road 700 to 710 and of Township Road 740 to Highway 43, west of the BC/AB border to Range Road 130.

However, residents residing north of Township Road 710 to 740, east of the British Columbia/ Alberta border to Range Road 130 remain on an evacuation order.

An evacuation alert also remains in place for everyone north of Township Road 710 to 740, east of Range Road 130 to 124.

The fire is listed as out of control, but it is still reported to be 21,679 hectares in size, which has not changed from the last update.

At this time, an Air Quality Warning from Environment Canada remains in effect.
