GPREP shrinks evacuation order again

Jun 12, 2025 | 6:08 PM

GRPEP says heavy rainfall, favourable conditions and hard work from local firefighting crews have led them to rescind more evacuation orders.

Now, residents residing north of Township Road 710 to 740, east of the British Columbia/ Alberta border to Range Road 130, can return home.

However, the order does remain in place for those west of Range Road 132, closer to the border.

GPREP did note that residents returning home should be prepared to leave again on short notice, if conditions change.

The fire does remain out of control and is listed as 26,628 hectares in size.
