Stretch of free parking near GPRH closed until September

Jun 27, 2025 | 7:05 AM

As excavation begins on the new Maskwa Medical Centre, street parking along 110 Street will not be allowed.

The stretch of road that runs alongside the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital parkade is commonly used as free parking for hospital visitors.

The City will now not allow street parking on either side to keep both workers and residents safe, as “truck traffic and equipment will limit visibility.”

Anyone who is found to be violating no-parking zones or moving barriers, “may result in enforcement.”

The City notes additional closures may take place as the project progresses.

During construction, the road will remain open but will have a 30 km/h limit, and feature barriers, signage, and flag workers.

Work is expected to wrap up by September.

The City reminded residents that “paid parking is available in the nearby hospital parkade.”
