Evacuation Alert removed for properties near Kiskatinaw River Wildfire

County of Grande Prairie has removed the Evacuation Alert for the Kiskatinaw River Wildfire.

The alert for everyone located north of Township Road 714 to Township Road 734, east of the BC/Alberta border, to Ranger Road 131 has been rescinded as the fire continues to be held at an estimated 26,315 hectares.

Over the weekend increased temperatures and gusty winds were detected, but the fire did not grow beyond the existing perimeter.

BC Wildfire is continuing to monitor the fire and will work to extinguish any hot spots and prevent any potential spread.
