Arrest made in Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation homicide

An arrest has been made in connection with a homicide on Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.

35-year-old Branden Munro was arrested in BC and charged with second-degree murder following the June 22 death of 28-year-old Isiah Cordell Cardinal.

Munro was arrested June 29 and has been remanded into custody prior to his next court appearance in Alberta.

Despite the arrest, the Alberta Major Crime Unit is still investigation the homicide and are urging anyone with information to contact the Valleyview RCMP at 780-524-3345 or your local police.
