Afternoon tea returns to Reverend Forbes Homestead

It’s teatime in Grande Prairie.
The City of Grande Prairie’s annual tradition of Afternoon Tea at the Reverend Forbes Homestead returns today.
The annual activity carries on the legacy of Agnes Forbes, wife of Reverend Alexander Forbes and one of the first health care providers in the area, who was known for offering tea and advice for her guests, and whose tea parties became a popular community-building event.

Events like this enhance our quality of life by offering meaningful experiences that celebrate our local history, foster a sense of belonging, and keep our community’s stories alive.
