Teepee Creek Stampede gets going Thursday

Jul 10, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Four Days in the Wild starts today (Thursday, July 10) at the Teepee Creek Stampede.

Teepee Creek Rodeo Association president Tanner Stark tells us about some of things happening this year.

“(We’ve) got our Ranch Rodeo that we started last year. That’s pretty exciting for people if they want to see some new events.”

“(Also), maybe a couple surprises mixed in the mix there too. We’ll keep that for people that have to come out and see that.”

Stark says some competitors that had been at the Calgary Stampede will also be at Teepee Creek.

“We’re getting a bunch of guys that are going to be riding in Calgary and then coming up and riding for us too. (They will) be on good stock, so it’s pretty exciting.”

“W’e’ve got the big wagons coming as well this year. We’ve got outriders (that are) going to be in the infield and the big wagons, so, yeah. we’re pretty pumped about that.”

We asked Stark how they were able to get the WPCA to add a Teepee Creek stop for this year.

“Well, we did a bunch of beggin’ and a bunch of all kinds of stuff there.”

“We both got on the same page and made it happen.”

Thursday is Family Day at Teepee Creek. The Future Stampeders Junior Rodeo runs from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Family Day activities go from 1-4 p.m.

The evening Grand Entry starts at 6 p.m. with the TP Ranch Rodeo at 6:15 p.m.

The pro rodeo slack will take place Friday starting at 8:30 a.m. Main performances go Friday through Sunday starting at 1 p.m. daily.

The wagons and wild pony races will run Friday through Sunday. The evening show will start with the grand entry at 6 p.m.

Stark says there will be 35 All-Pro wagons and 18 WPCA rigs.
