Jul 10, 2025 | 1:44 PM

Grande Prairie Enforcement Services says they want to remind motorists to obey the rules of reduced speed limits in construction zones to keep other road users and workers safe.

On Wednesday, July 9, just after 11 a.m., a Peace Officer was conducting speed enforcement in an active construction zone on 96 Street and 113 Avenue in the city.

The Peace Officer recorded a motorcyclist going 106 km/h; 76 km/h over the posted speed limit.

The biker was stopped and issued a violation ticket for exceeding the speed limit in a construction zone with workers present, under the Traffic Safety Act. This offence comes with a mandatory court appearance.

No details were released about the identity of the driver.

Enforcement Services is urging all motorists to respect posted speed limits everywhere.
