Two Peace Region competitors win at Teepee Creek Stampede

Two competitors from the Peace Region won buckles in the rodeo at the Teepee Creek Stampede.

An 84.5 point ride on Sunday gave Grande Prairie’s Auxyn Corr the bull riding title.

A B.C. Peace cowgirl, Jessie Pearson of Montney, took first in breakaway roping with a time of 2.4 seconds. She competed in the slack on Friday morning.

Milo, Alberta’s Chett Deitz won the barebacks, Scott Guenthner of Provost the steer wrestling, Jackson Braithwaite and Derek Hadland of Ponoka won team roping, Austin Hines of Marwayne won tie-down roping, Sissy Winn of Chapman Ranch, Texas, won the barrel racing, and Shellbrook, Saskatchewan’s Gunner Armstrong took first in the junior steer riding.

Sawyer Eirikson of Okotoks and Kole Ashbacher of Arrowood both recorded 86.5 points rides during the Friday main performance to win the saddle broncs title.

There were no qualified rides in the novice bareback or novice saddle bronc events.
