More measles cases reported at GPRH and Fairview Health Complex

Alberta Health Services is notifying the public of more incidents of persons with confirmed cases of measles visiting Grande Prairie and Fairview locations.

An infected has been reported visiting the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Emergency Department while infectious July 6 from 10:05 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.

An infected person visited the Fairview Health Complex emergency department while contagious July 13 from 3:50 p.m. to 9:05 p.m.

Anyone who was at any of these locations on those dates and has fewer then two doses of the measles vaccine may be at risk of infection.

If symptoms do develop, individuals should stay at home and call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 before visiting any healthcare provider.

Pregnant individuals, children under five, and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk.
