Alberta advances to U18 Football Canada Cup gold medal game

Alberta has advanced to the gold medal game at the U18 Football Canada Cup being played in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Alberta advanced with 34-27 come-from-behind win over Quebec in the semi-finals.

Grande Prairie’s Maddyn Morin was named the game’s Defensive MVP.

Morin and fellow Team Alberta linebacker Cohen Boucher are both products of St. Joe’s. Boucher was the Defensive MVP in Alberta’s opening 52-7 win over Manitoba on Monday.

Their Alberta teammates include offensive lineman Hudson Palfy from the Sexsmith Sabres and defensive lineman Rigley Saville from the Valleyview Cougars.

Alberta will play Ontario in the gold medal game on Sunday.
