GPFA fire risk now at Moderate Level

The fire danger in the Grande Prairie Forest Area has risen slightly from low to moderate.

While cooler temperatures and recent rain have lowered the overall risk, wildfires can still start in dry areas during windy conditions.

Alberta Wildfire is reminding anyone using off highway vehicles like ATVs that riding on a containment line is illegal and can pose a serious risk to public safety.

At this time, all three wildfires currently burning in the area are listed as either being held or under control.
