Grande Prairie Enforcement Services carry out enhanced traffic enforcement over Heritage Day long weekend
Grande Prairie Enforcement Services issued over 270 violation tickets aimed at reducing high-risk driving behaviours over Heritage Day long weekend.
GPES carried out enhanced traffic enforcement over the weekend to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians, targeting speeding, seatbelt infractions, distracted driving and equipment violations related to noise.
We conducted two noisy vehicle enforcement operations in the city this weekend, where we were able to address many vehicles with illegal modifications, some of which are directly linked to increased noise. Two 24-hour suspensions and five mandatory court appearances were issued, with two motorists charged for driving 50 km/h over the speed limit, two for driving without insurance and one for driving while suspended.
