Mounties in the Swan City say a 20-year-old man from Longview, AB, has been arrested after a report of a person walking around with a firearm.

The incident took place on Monday Aug. 11, around 8 p.m., in the area of 104 Avenue and 110 Street in Grande Prairie.

Police responded to the call with RCMP Police Dog Services, where they located the suspect and arrested them on scene. Police say the firearm was found to be an imitation firearm.

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released. He is to appear in Grande Prairie court on Sept. 3, 2025.
