Severe Air Quality Warning in affect for Peace Region
A severe Air Quality Warning has been issued for much of the Peace Region, including Grande Prairie by Environment Canada.
The national weather office says widespread wildfire smoke from wildfires in the Northwest Territories has drifted south, causing very poor air quality and reduced visibility
People most likely to impacted by the smoke include people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, young children, people with existing conditions, and people who work outdoors.
Residents are being advised to limit their time outdoors whenever possible and to use respirator type masks outside to help limit the exposure to fine particles.
