Local family donates air conditioning units to Robert W. Zahara Public School

Robert W. Zahara Public School is thanking the members of the Charlton Family for their donation to help keep their classrooms cool.

The six-year-old school includes 10 portable classrooms, none of which come with their own air conditioning; making classes during extended periods of heat difficult for students and teachers alike.

Principal Stacy Rorem says to properly retrofit all 10 classrooms it would cost $6,000 per classroom.

On Friday August 29, the Charlton family, who have three kids attending Zahara, donated four air conditioning units wanting to help as many kids and adults as possible.

The four donated units were installed in the hottest classrooms, providing some relief to the people inside.
