Multiple new fires reported in Grande Prairie Forest Area

New fires have started in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

Wildfire GWF111 was first reported Monday, September 8, south of the Wapiti River and is currently sitting at 60 hectares in size. Wildfire GWF 112, north of Township Road 750, was reported Tuesday, September 9 and is currently 1.0 hectares in size.

Both fires are currently listed as out of control and their causes are under investigation.

The only other wildfire of note at this time is the Kiskatinaw River Wildfire, which continues to be held 26,195 hectares.

The Grande Prairie Forest Area is still under a Fire Advisory and smoky conditions are expected to continue intermittently.
