First Responders Day set for Saturday

The Grande Prairie Legion is hosting First Responders Day on Saturday, September 13.

This is being called “a free community event dedicated to celebrating and honoring the incredible men and women who serve and protect our community every day” in a release from organizers.

The event will run from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

People will have a chance to meet some first responders, see a demonstration by Technical Search and Rescue and see some relay challenges.

There is also a free BBQ, cake, and family activities.

“This event is a way for our community to come together and show appreciation for the dedication, sacrifice, and service of our First Responders. We want to celebrate their commitment while also providing families with a fun and memorable day,” says Legion president Dean Langton in that same release.

Anyone who wants to come is welcome.
