Eastlink’s lazy river remaining closed until December

The lazy river at the Eastlink Aquatics Centre will remain closed past the annual maintenance reopening date.

The lazy river is now expected to reopen in December instead of Oct. 5, as crews discovered the river’s liner needs replacement while conducting its annual maintenance check.

Originally, Eastlink had planned to complete a liner replacement next year in the fall, but is now moving it up.

After the pool reopens, the area around the lazy river will be fenced off, with staff adjusting schedules to reduce the impacts.
