Fourth Annual GirlZone event taking place Oct. 4

Grande Prairie’s activity-based day for young girls returns next week.

GirlZone is back to once again encourage girls aged 10-15 to try out new skills and recreational activities with their friends.

Ten activities will be available this year, including dance, squash, soccer, and Indigenous beading.

New this year is an optional group for ages 13 to 15 to support a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.

“GirlZone has become a highlight for many young people in our community,” says Jackie Clayton, Mayor of the City of Grande Prairie. “It’s about opening doors, sparking new interests and showing girls that their place in sport and recreation matters.”
