Fire Advisory
County of Grande Prairie downgrades fire restriction
Oct 2, 2025 | 2:06 PM
The County of Grande Prairie downgraded it’s fire restriction to an advisory, effective as of 1 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 2).
County Fire Chief Trevor Grant credited “recent cooler temperatures and increased precipitation,” adding that this had led to “the overall wildfire risk across the county to decrease.”
However, the County did say under this advisory, fire permits may be restricted.
Residents are also being encouraged to check previous burn piles to make sure they are fully extinguished.
