PRSD approves capital plan amendment to put new Fairview school first on its list

The Peace River School Division says a new school for Fairview is now first on its wish list.

At its meeting on September 23, the board approved an amendment to the 2025-2026 capital plan to request approval for a new K-12 School in Fairview.

The board feels a new school is the best solution to Fairview’s aging and underutilized infrastructure.

For the time being, the board will continue to explore modernizing existing school buildings through a Value Scoping process by consulting with stakeholders to learn exactly what they want, to ensure the board’s chosen approach represents the most effective investment for the community.
