County of Grande Prairie Council Candidate Profile:Terri Beaupre

Oct 6, 2025 | 6:18 PM

Terri Beaupre is one of two Division 3 residents running for a County of Grande Prairie council position.

1. What has inspired you to run for mayor/council/school trustee in the Oct. 20, 2025, municipal election?

I am passionate about this community. The County of Grande Prairie is where my family and I call home, and I want to see it thrive. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work with local groups, businesses, and residents, and I believe now is the right time to bring that experience to the Council table. What inspires me most is the people, our families, entrepreneurs, and neighbours, who care deeply about this region. My goal is to be a strong advocate, voice and work hard to ensure our County continues to a place where opportunity and quality of life go hand in hand.

2. What skills or experience do you have that you feel would make you a good fit for the role?

Growing up in the Grande Prairie region with strong agricultural roots, and now raising our family here in the County, has shaped both my values and my commitment to this community. More than a decade of work in the oil and gas sector provided first-hand knowledge of one of our region’s key industries. Experience with both municipal and provincial government has given me valuable insight I can bring to this role. Along with that, active involvement in leadership roles through boards and community organizations, combined with a career in business and governance, has built a strong foundation to bring a steady and committed voice to Division 3 on Council.

3. What do you feel are the key or main election issues in your community, and what are the issues of priority for you?

• Responsible growth: ensuring development meets families’ needs while remaining fiscally responsible.

• Economic growth: attracting investment, supporting local business, and building a strong workforce.

• Healthcare: advocating for better access and retention of doctors and nurses in the region.

• Regional collaboration: working with neighbouring municipalities on shared solutions that benefit residents.

My priority is to ensure residents’ voices are heard and reflected in every decision Council makes.

4. Where can people learn more about you?
