As of 9:00 a.m., (Oct. 10) Mounties in Grande Prairie say a multiple vehicle collision is blocking lanes heading westbound on Highway 43, west of the city in between Range Roads 73 and 74.

EMS, Fire, and RCMP are currently on scene.

Traffic in the westbound lanes is down to one lane and authorities might fully close them.

The public is being asked to avoid the area and seek an alternative route of travel.

An update will be given when the highway reopens to regular traffic flow or if more information is given by RCMP.
