Beaverlodge Hospital ED closed for 12 hours Oct. 11

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital emergency department will be without an on-site physician for 12 hours Saturday, Oct. 11.

Due to an inability to secure physician coverage, there will be no on-site physician from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Patients are still asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency as EMS will remain available to reroute callers to surrounding facilities.

Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide urgent triage, assessment, and referrals for patients to alternate emergency departments, and 911 callers with medical emergency situations will be re-routed to neighbouring facilities.

Virtual Emergency Physician coverage maybe be available, where experienced ED physicians can be reached remotely to support the ED temporarily during this service advisory.

The disruption may be cancelled if coverage is found.
