Covenant hosting healthcare session First Nations, Metis, Inuit peoples today in Grande Prairie

Oct 21, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Covenant is hosting what it is calling a “local Indigenous health engagement session” in Grande Prairie today (Oct. 21).

First Nations, Metis, and Inuit people are invited to the session that is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion in Muskoseepi Park.

“We want to provide a safe space for the community to share their unique experiences and perspectives to help inform and build Covenant’s Indigenous health strategy. We are eager to respectfully listen and learn and we are deeply grateful to the Grande Prairie community for welcoming us. We look forward to walking this path together,” said Covenants Adam North Peigan in a release from the organization.

Elders, knowledge keepers, and others will be there to talk about health care that Covenant says would be “culturally safe.”

The same release says the event is meant to “foster meaningful dialogue and relationship-building with Indigenous communities.”

People who can’t attend in person, can share their ideas online.
