While Valleyview RCMP investigates allegations of animal cruelty and distress at a shelter, hundreds of animals have been turned over to Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society for care.

Local officers worked with the Canadian Animal Task Force to remove 290 cats, dogs, and livestock in varying states of distress.

Mounties say charges are pending approval at this time, with further updates expected.

In that same blog post, AARCS gave thanks to 16 other welfare agencies that assisted them, the Canadian Animal Task Force and RCMP in extracting and taking in some of these animals:

More updates are expected.
