Village of Berwyn applies for HGTV’s Home Town Takeover Canada

The Village of Berwyn is looking to the Home and Garden Channel to help revitalize their community.

The village has applied to be featured on the HGTV series Home Town Takeover Canada, a program centered around revitalizing small Canadian communities and highlighting their resilience.

The network responded to the application positively and requested a video submission.

In the video, Mayor Nicole Johnson says she’s hoping to bring recreation back to Berwyn.

The video was created by the Lac Cardinal Regional Economic Development Board, a partnership between Berwyn, the Town of Grimshaw, and the Municipal District of Peace.

The video also highlighted Berwyn’s recently renovated downtown area.

Johnson expressed a desire in the video to maintain Berwyn’s community nostalgia.

Home Town Takeover Canada does not pay for any renovations itself, and Mayor Johnson says she is prepared to take the necessary steps if Berwyn is selected.
