Mobile mammography unit now in Slave Lake

Women at risk of developing breast cancer in Slave Lake will have local access to mammography services for two weeks, starting today.

Primary Care Alberta says their Screen Test program to detect breast cancer will be at the Slave Lake Healthcare Centre Nov. 6-8 and 12-14.

Screen Test is dedicated to improving access to cancer screening for women in Alberta communities where mammography is not readily available.

Appointments need to be booked in advance, while those wanting to access the healthcare service can call 1-800-667-0604 to do so and learn more.
