Applications being accepted for City boards, committees, and commissions

Residents wanting to be a part of the municipal decision-making process now have a chance to sit on a City of Grande Prairie board, committee, or commission.

The municipality is encouraging residents to apply to join one of the multiple opportunities with openings to make an impact.

Public members help review issues, consider local options, look at impacts, and provide advice that supports informed, transparent, and accountable outcomes.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and meet the skills, abilities, and experience required for the position they are applying for.

Representatives from the public will be appointed and approved by City Council from the applicant pool.

The following openings on City boards, committees, and commissions are:

  • Assessment Review Board – 5 positions
  • Combative Sports Commission – 7 positions
  • Community Advisory Committee – 2 positions
  • Community Knowledge Campus Advisory Committee – 7 positions
  • Grande Prairie Airport Commission – 3 positions
  • Grande Prairie Public Library Board – 4 positions
  • Joint Appeals Board – 3 positions

Terms start in January 2025.
