Nov 20, 2025 | 3:47 PM

The Canadian Curling Trials will start Saturday in Halifax.

The trials will decide the men’s and women’s teams that will represent Canada at the upcoming Olympics in Italy.

There are three rinks taking part that have connections to the Peace Country.

On the women’s side, Team Skrlik will open play at 11 a.m. against another rink from Alberta, skipped by Selena Sturmay.

The team includes Nampa-raised sisters Kayla and Ashton Skrlik at skip and second, respectively.

The first men’s draw will start at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Team Gushue, with Beaverlodge’s Geoff Walker at lead, will play Team Kleiter from Saskatoon.

Team Koe will face Team Jacobs from Calgary. Skip Kevin Koe is a former resident of Grande Prairie.
