Dawson Creek & District Hospital Foundation launches campaign to bring MRI to South Peace
The Dawson Creek & District Hospital Foundation has launched a new campaign to bring an MRI to the South Peace Region of the B.C Peace.
The Clear Picture Campaign aims to raise $3-million to purchase a full-body MRI. Organizers say they want to ensure residents have access to state-of-the-art, publicly funded imaging locally and help attract and retain physicians and health care professionals in the South Peace.
“Having a clear picture—at the right time—is vital for every patient and their family,” said Brette Madden, chair of the Foundation. “This campaign is about ensuring our community receives the care it deserves, right here at home.”
“Investing in an MRI is vital for our patients,” said Dr. Remi Oyedeji, Chief of StaƯ at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital. “It will save lives, alleviate pain and anxiety related to travelling for this modality, and help ensure that health care professionals come and stay in our community.”
