City of Grande Prairie introducing youth microgrant program
The City of Grande Prairie is launching a new microgrant to help youth and young adults reach their goals.
The Youth Economic Empowerment Microgrant provides up to $750 per person to residents aged 15 to 30, helping to cover costs such as safety training, professional certification course, work wear and tools.
“Youth are an essential part of the story of Grande Prairie,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton. “When we support young people in accessing the tools and training they need, we are helping them build confidence and creating stronger connections across our community. This program is one more way we can support quality of life for all ages, and build supports that help both future employees and business owners succeed.”
To apply for the grant, applicants must live, work or attend school in Grande Prairie, and be able to identify a barrier related to employment or education that is hindering their progress.
