Make-A-Wish Canada gifts custom Christmas Trees to children with critical illnesses at first major Grande Prairie event

Non-profit organization, Make-A-Wish Canada held its inaugural Trees of Joy Grande Prairie event at the Delta Hotels Grande Prairie Airport Wednesday, Nov. 26.

The event had local children who have had their wishes granted by Make-A-Wish attend an unveiling ceremony of unique, custom-decorated Christmas trees, personally curated to each child.

Chapter director Jen Garden says the children were overjoyed to see their personalized trees light up.

After the tree unveiling, the children were able to have breakfast with the families and the donor entities who donated $10,000 to decorate the trees.

Make-A-Wish Canada works with communities across Canada to grant wishes to children with critical illnesses.

3,700 in Canada are currently waiting for their wish to be granted, including 33 in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas.

Garden says Make-A-Wish was thrilled to work with Grande Prairie and they are eager to return for another event soon.
