Alberta RCMP appoints new Western Alberta District Officer

A new District Officer for Western Alberta has been appointed by Alberta RCMP.

Effective Monday, Chief Superintendent Adrian Marsden has assumed his new role after previously serving as Officer in Charge of the Langley, BC, detachment.

Marsden has over 30 years of policing experience in detachments in both BC and Alberta and in 2019 established the Office of Investigative Standards & Practices for Alberta RCMP to improve investigative practices and legal application support.

“I look forward to learning more about the communities we serve and supporting RCMP employees in achieving our shared objectives,” said Marsden. “Building strong relationships and delivering effective and consultative policing remain my top priorities.”

The Alberta RCMP’s Western Alberta District covers Drayton Valley to Jasper up to High Level, and Fort Vermillion to the border with the Northwest Territories.
