City of Grande Prairie holding ribbon cutting and open house at Keyera Place

Dec 4, 2025 | 1:23 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event Friday, Dec. 5, for their newly renamed sports facility.

The recently renamed Keyera Place will be offering free drop-in activities throughout the day, including skateboarding, children’s rock climbing, court sports and disco roller skating.

“The open house is a wonderful way to celebrate the energy and connection that Keyera Place brings to our community,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “We’re excited to welcome everyone in the community to come together, get active and enjoy all the space has to offer with a day of free and fun activities.”

The ribbon cutting goes at 9:00 a.m. Friday with activities to take place all day from 10:00 a.m. on.

“We’re proud to be a part of a centre that brings people together and strengthens the fabric of the Grande Prairie community,” added Jonas Westlin, Northern Field Superintendent with Keyera. “This partnership is about more than a name on a building. It’s about supporting spaces that foster belonging, wellbeing, and community resiliency. Keyera Place reflects collaboration, the spirit of community, and our lasting commitment to investing in the places where we live and work.”
