Busy and successful weekend for Piranhas swimmers
Athletes from the Grande Prairie Piranhas Swim team were busy collecting accolades and medals over the weekend.
The Piranhas took the team performance award and came away with seven medals, four of them gold, at the Ontario Junior Invitational swim meet in Toronto.
Oliver Dawson won gold in the 50, 100 and 200 metre breaststroke. He also set new meet and age group records in the 100. His time was 57.64 seconds.
Dawson also broke the record for the fastest time in the 200 for the 15-17 age group (2:05.77) and swam the fastest time ever, 26.43 seconds, for a 17-year-old in the 50.
