Snowfall warning issued for Grande Prairie and along Highways 40 & 43

Update: Environment Canada now says anywhere in-between 15 to 30 centimetres of snow is to fall Wednesday. This is more than the originally anticipated 10 to 20 centimetres forecast on Tuesday.

Environment Canada has issued another yellow snowfall warning this week, but this time for Grande Prairie and area.

The weather alert expands from the B.C. border by Demmitt, southeast towards Edmonton along Highway 43, as well as south along Highway 40 to Grande Cache.

Anywhere in-between 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is to be expected by Wednesday morning or afternoon. The national weather office says snowfall will be heavy at times with rapid accumulation.

Travel on roads and walkways may difficult to navigate due to this heavy band of snowfall. Please be prepared for quickly changing and deteriorating conditions if travelling.

Also, take frequent breaks while manually clearing snow to avoid strain.
