Storm saddle up for pair of games against Pontiacs

Following a Family Day win over the Drayton Valley Thunder, the Grande Prairie Storm will prepare for their final two home games of the regular season as they host the Bonnyville Pontiacs.

The Storm are coming off a 2-1 win at home Monday afternoon, which helped vault their record to 28-25-3 on the season.

They remain in 5th place in the AJHL North and are still 5 points back of Fort McMurray for 4th with just 4 games to go.

Their opponent this weekend is one of the top clubs in the AJHL.

Bonnyville goes into Friday night’s game with a 39-12-4 record on the year, and they are 2 points ahead of the Sherwood Park Crusaders for 1st in the division.

The season series between the Storm and the Pontiacs has been one-sided in favour of Bonnyville.

They have won all 4 meetings so far this season, including a 5-0 win in Bonnyville just a week and a half ago.

The Pontiacs have also outscored the Storm 21-6 in the season series.
